As happens every year, I am so far behind the proverbial Christmas eight ball that I'm not even near a pool table. Bear in mind this is completely self-induced. No one would know or care if my 7-month-old had a stocking from a drug store instead of one crocheted and felted by my own hands. Only I would buy dresses my daughters will wear for mere hours that need altering (but honestly, they were too good of a deal to pass up!) and then decide that what they really need are matching sashes, and while I'm at it, Stinky could really use a metallic brocade jacket to match. Where, I ask you, is a 3-year-old going to wear a metallic brocade jacket? Or, why did I spend a week crocheting and felting matching hats (see pic) they will absolutely refuse to wear since the little one has figured out how to remove head gear and the big one has to match the little one.
So here's my Christmas list...
Christmas cards have been sent
Presents to far and away family have been mailed (just under the wire)
Presents for locals are purchased and partially wrapped
No baking has been done (provisions have been purchased and waiting patiently on the counter for over a week)
Tons of sewing to do
Half a stocking to crochet and felt
Not too bad, but I promise to do better next year. No really, I mean it this time.
